The Knife won the Swedish Grammis award for Pop Group of the Year in 2003, but they boycotted the ceremony by sending two representatives of the Guerrilla Girls, with the number 50 written on their costumes, as a protest against male dominance in the music industry.

Jenny Wilson was signed to The Knife's Rabid Records, and was a guest vocalist on The Knife's album Deep Cuts[2] on the song You Take My Breath Away which is about The Knife's Karin Dreijer Andersson going to a First Floor Power show. Wilson is also featured in the music video for the song.

Le Hole sono un gruppo alternative rock formatosi nel 1989 e scioltosi nel 2002, per poi riformarsi nel 2009, capitanato da Courtney Love e co-fondato da Eric Erlandson, con Patty Schemel alla batteria e Melissa Auf der Maur al basso. La precedente bassista, Kristen Pfaff, morì di apparente overdose nel 1994. Occasionalmente sono stati coinvolti nella scrittura e registrazione degli album Kurt Cobain (in Live Through This) e Billy Corgan (in Celebrity Skin).
courtey e kat si distinguevano, che insieme nei primissimi anni  nell'ambito delle riot grrls e delle donne che suonavano all'epoca, per il loro stile, che veniva definito kinderwhore.
era uno fashion stile, che pare sia stata proprio kat bjelland a nominare in questo modo, che nei primi anni ottanta formo propri ouna band, sugar babydoll assieme a courtney, che all'epoca non suonava nulla (come dice di lei kat in un intervista, aveva un sacco di musica in testa, ma non sapeva suonare ne metterla giù) nato probabilmente nei primissimi anni 80 da band come le pandoras e the muffs, che avevano le frontwoman che usavan ovestirsi con corpetti vittoriani pizzi e babydoll, farsi i capelli molto da bambole (quindi colori forti, molto lunghi, ecc) e scarpe mary jane (credo che in italia le chiamiamo?) o anfibi.
questo stile, diciamo da bambole puttane, come da definizione, era uno stile aggressivo, niente affatto ammicante, ma molto forte. era un modo per affermare che non c'è proprio nulla di male se mi piacciono i vestiti corti, sexy e il trucco pesante, perché è quello che sono io, mi riapproprio di quello che mi hanno affibiato per secoli, ma stravolgendolo e rivoltandolo e riuscendo a girare la canna della pistola dalla parte giusta.

per contrapposizione stavolta mi viene i mente la serie the good wife, credo già citata in queste nostre puntate che ha una colonna sonora di tutto rispetto. nella stagione 4 c'è ua puntata dal titolo two girls one code, due ragazze un codice, nella quale si sentono alcune canzoni di un'artista che a me piace moltissimo, assolutamente sconosciuta alle più che usa lo pseudonimo di the blow, The Blow is an electro pop band comprising Khaela Maricich and Melissa Dyne. Maricich and Dyne write, compose, produce and perform all the music.[1] It was formed as a solo project by Maricich in 2002, and she was joined by Jona Bechtolt, aka Yacht, from 2004 to 2007.[2][3] Melissa Dyne became part of the project in 2007.[4]

The live shows often incorporate monologues and other performance elements. Melissa Dyne began collaborating with Maricich on the live Blow shows starting in 2007, gradually incorporating her background in installation, sound, and conceptual art into the live show.[4] Dyne performs live from a location off stage. Maricich and Dyne composed and produced an eponymous album for The Blow, released in 2013.[5] They have given a series of artist talks discussing The Blow as a mode of performance art.[
