nuovo album per il trio, che si esibilto in concerto pochi giorni orsono in italia, proprio per presentare il nuovo lavoro uscito il 23 settembre. che si intitola  Move In Spectrums (2013) ed esce per la moshi moshi, con la quale hanno inciso i loro precedenti 3 album.
Le Au Revoir Simone sono un gruppo indie pop statunitense nato nel 2003 a Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. Il gruppo è formato da tre ragazze: Erika Forster, Annie Hart e Heather D'Angelo. Erika Forster e Annie Hart hanno fatto amicizia mentre viaggiavano in treno dal Vermont a New York

-summer camp/the end
parlando della moshi moshi un'altra band, un duo per l'esattezza, che vi ho fatto ascoltare tempo fa, ha appena pubblicato il 2 album, omonimo, loro sono summer camp, composti da Jeremy Warmsley e Elizabeth Sankey  e questo album (a parte un paio di ep) segue il loro debutto, che risale all'autunno del 2011 e che si intitolava ‘Welcome To Condale’, si tratta di belle e orecchiabile canzoni pop, senza grosse pretese a parte quelle di far divertire, e che sanno molto di scuole, corpi giovani e feste fino all'alba.
summer camp è uscito il 9 settembre.

I recently bumped into some news on a terrific and powerful woman known (not famous) as Ann Magnusson (I was actually reading stuff on her as a performer), and went back to Bongwater’s music, that somehow I had forgotten along the way.

Shame on me.

And of course to apologize, here I am suggesting you to listen and inevitably fall in love with this two piece band, whose story lasted 7 amazing years from 1985 to 1992.

Bongwater consisted of Ann as lead vocalist, front woman, performer and icon, and Mark Kramer as instrumentalist, engineer, producer, a former member of Shockabilly, Half-Japanese and head of the Shimmy Disc label, but still had some time to play with New York Gong and Butthole Surfers. Helped by drummer David Licht and guitarists Dave Rick (and many guests)  had enough time to release 2 EPs and 4 full length albums, among which the one I’ve been listening for the last 4 weeks continuously.

The power of pussy is, yes you’re right, about sex, a lot about sex, in many different ways, none of them predictable,  and yes/yes the doll is yours, the title song that opens the album is a feminist anthem.

Bongwater were a psych folk trippy rock band, very much alternative and, as I found out, with a huge number of crazy fans and lovers all over the world. In their songs and through Ann’s lyrics,  you’ll find her amazing vocal performances, ’cause really she’s not just singing, declaiming or acting,  samples from Nixon’s speeches, weird stories about Nick Cave dolls walking on Hollywood Boulevard, noisy guitars, and folk acid ballads, moans and whispers, loud and curse words and even more. If you like them you can find a lot of amazing, interesting articles about them searching the web, but I would recommend you take a look to the video of “The power of Pussy”, posted below, and I think you’ll get the whole picture, plus read this post written by Richard Metzger on the making of the video, very funny story (…budget was $1000 and $600 of that went to Ann’s hair and make-up, with the remainder going to pizza and videotape stock…).

una delle nostre artiste preferite, emily, polistrumentista a metà tra la classica e l'hip hop, ha raggiunto devo dire un po' di fama in più grazie all'inclusione nel film Stoker, di Park Chan-Wook uscito a giugno di quest'anno del suo pezzo dal titolo Becomes the color. a volte succede anhe così, noi però la amiamo e la ascoltiamo da un bel po'.
ultimo album per emily uscito, per la Bulk Recordings/EMI si intitola mama, e ne è appena uscita una versione acustica.

Poliça posted a new track, “Smug”, from off their forthcoming release, “Shulamith”, out October 22 on Mom+Pop (US), and on the 21st via Memphis Industries in the UK. The new song is closer to the style of songs off 2012's “Give You the Ghost”,

nuovo video online per questa  Canadian shoegazing band formed in late 2009 by Jasamine White-Gluz and Laura Lloyd.conosciutesi e hanno cominciato a collaborare via mail, hanno una mentalità fortemente diy e escono per la mexican summer, label con base a brooklyn. l'album uscito nell'aprile del 2013 si intitola wait to pleasure.

4 dischi in tre anni sono proprio tanti, insomma devo dire che però questa straordinaria artista di sacramento che vive a los angeles non sbaglia un colpo e forse questo è il lavoro migliore tra i suoi.
l'album si intitola pain is beauty, è uscito il 21 settembre per la sargent house.

la nostra instancabile creatura prodigio non ha resistito e ha sfornato un nuovo album uscito a maggio, Once I Was an Eagle (2013) che è u po' una continuazione secondo il mio ascolto di a creature i don't know. ma non è mai paga la nostra giovanissima cantante folk preferita, ha già annunciato che sta lavorando al suo 5 album (in 7 anni di carriera).

vi avevo fatto sentire un pezzo un po' di tempo fa estratto dal suo secondo album cerulean salt, ce ne sta bene un altro, visto che ho ascoltato e riascoltato questo album quest'estate.
